Meet the newest additions to our family: Hannah & Miley!
Hannah is a Buff Orpington and Miley is an Easter Egger. Both girls just hatched Monday and came home to us today.
They’ll be hanging out in their brooder in our home office for a few weeks with regular field trips outside. Then they’ll be moving out to the backyard chicken coop once their feathers come in. Until then, they still need the heat lamp to keep warm.
The kids helped come up with their names. Mykl wanted to name them Penny & Bernadette, but the kids vetoed that claiming Bernadette is too hard to pronounce. I caved to the majority and figured whenever they take a dust bath, it’ll be kind of a homage to their namesake.
